I was hoping to have all the stitching on Cinderella done, but no such luck.
I do have a question for people who do their own framing:
Where do you get your frames?
I have so many finishes waiting to be framed but the cost of getting things professionally framed is ludicrous around these parts. And commercial frames available at Michaels/Walmart/etc are in fixed sizes, and my finishes are not those sizes. I'm thinking of doing my own framing but am stumped about where to get frames in custom sizes.

I get mine from Michaels (totally just bought two lol) and get a bigger size. Then I just may around it. The mats are usually a little off in the sizes but I can just trim off a bit if I need to. But I dye my fabric so I won't even need to make the mats fit anymore either I'll just let the fabric show
I don't know where you live, but over here in the UK I use ezeframe.co.uk. I can upload my picture and spend as much time as I want choosing different between different mounts and frames. I have used them quite a few times and have never been disappointed. Granted, they do not have the choice that a professional framer would have, and I obviously have to stretch the piece myself, BUT they are about 40% of the price so it's well worth it in my opinion. Good luck with finding a framer. :)
I haven't done much of my own framing (yet!) but I have noticed that Herrschner's carries the frames where you can order the pieces to the size you need. I hope that made sense! They have a website, too - www.herrschners.com
Hi Blu!!
This is my go to on-line frame store. http://www.americanframe.com/
They do custom cut frames and sell mat board too.
Your Cinderella is gorgeous, I really hope you can find a nice frame for her! I'm with you - I can't afford professional framing either. I find most of my frames through thrifting in second-hand stores (e.g. Salvation Army, Value Village) or garage sales. Luckily, I've been able to find lots of odd sizes and shapes that way and even inexpensive frames used to be much better made; I especially look for all wood, because then you can sand it down and refinish it.
It's gotten to the point that whenever I see a frame I like, I buy it if I can and stockpile it because it's so hard to find what you want when you need it. For larger pieces, I have done what Heather suggested and bought a frame larger than needed and then cut a custom mat to fit in it; you can even double or triple the mat layers if you need too. It's easier to fill in extra space in a larger frame than it is to try and deal with a frame that's too small. Mat board is not hard to cut if you have a cutting board and an xacto knife, though it is hard to get the beveled edges of premade mat inserts. Hope this helps!
I agree totally with you about the price of having your stitching framed professionally. Even with a 50% off coupon at Michael's, it still costs a fortune. I have a few pieces of stitching waiting to be framed, they will have to sit waiting till I can afford to get them done though . Hope you manage to find something to frame Cinderella....good luck!
You should be able to go into Michaels, Hobby Lobby, ect. and tell them what size frame you need. They should be able to make a custom sized frame or custom sized mat. Then you can either frame it yourself or have them do it. Framing it yourself isn't very hard, just time consuming. But well worth it in my opinion.
