Ocean Playground

Nova Scotia is one of Canada's Maritime provinces and its licence plates call it Canada's Ocean Playground.

It's the second smallest province by size and its name means New Scotland in Latin. It's mostly known for excellent seafood, perpetually terrible rainy weather and a long history of shipbuilding.

Pictured are the provincial flower, the mayflower and the provincial bird, the osprey. At the bottom is the Bluenose, a famous fishing schooner from the province. It is also on our ten cent coin.

The specialty stitch is the Quodlibet, which I had never even heard of, but was pretty easy to stitch.

We're heading to Nova Scotia in a couple of weeks. Perfect place for us to visit: he was born in Scotland and grew up in England and I'm of French Canadian descent. It's like they made the place for us! :)

These hearts are so nice! I went to NS for the first time two years ago and liked it so much I went back with my other half last year! We plan to go back again in the future we'd like to spend a week camping in the Highlands National Park!
