I had a finish way back in July and I forgot to post it. This, it turns out, was a good thing, since I have something to blog about. The last week has passed with exactly seven (count 'em seven) minutes of stitching. One a day when I pick up Minx, put in five stitches, stare at her, put her back down and wander away.
I blame the fall weather, the ending of my co-op work term, and impending school. My woes aside, here's what you're here to see:
Alexandrina's Fall Dreams Biscornu
Start date July 4, 2010
Finish date July 25, 2010
Fabric 28 ct black lugana
Floss GAST Daffodil, GAST Tuttifrutti
Total time 11.75 hours
I had to leave off the border. Why had to? Because I thought the fabric was 32 ct, and the size I cut would have been perfect. It wasn't so perfect since it was actually 28 ct.
My brother's immediate reaction upon seeing it was to tell me that I had "a bad yellow" since "it's all faded in parts" and "you should get a refund". Tuttifrutti isn't as varigated so he couldn't tell.

Thank you for visiting my blog!
Your Biscornu is beautiful and the Gast-threads look so brigth and sweet.
I have also many projects on the same time...
I think that starting a x-stitch project is same as scetching in the drawing/painting-art.
...like thinking with the pen and a paper, making the imagination visible..
All the scetches that an artist do dont end up as a paintings but they still were usefull for the PROCESS of making ART!!
Well,we kind of paint with the thread and fabric.
And if we dont finish all the new starts we have made ,what is the big deal?! :)
We were in the middle of the creative process that we needed for the choosing the pattern that will really be finished someday!!
I hope You did understood what I tried to explain ,even my english is not that perfect..
I really like your blog and ALL the patterns you have started :) :) :)
I love the look of stitching on black, but my eyes rebel against that. Too funny about your brother's take on the variegation!
A break is good sometimes to help you rejuvenate. I'm sure you'll rev up soon.
I've always loved how dramatic stitched on black pieces look and your Fall Dreams Biscornu certainly fits the bill! I love your brother's reaction, Blu! At least he had a reaction--my guys barely glance at my finishes and then simply say: "Yeah, nice." Not much encouragement from them!!
Good luck with your upcoming classes--I'm sure once you're back in the routine of things you'll feel more like stitching...
Gorgeous biscournu.
Don't you love the comments of the unitiated.
Sounds like Minx needs to get shelved for a bit--how 'bout Autumn Winds to ring in the season? :)
As for the biscornu, the yellow is my favorite part! :D
I love color in black fabric! That's so pretty! I've to try some day ;)
Congrats on your finish. 7 stitches is more than I got last week. zilch!
Very pretty Blu!
Congrats on your finish Blu!
It's lovely Blu! Men hey?? x
regardless of what your brother says, I think it's gorgeous !! Would never have thought to stitch this design on black and it's really stunning.
That is soo cute about your brother saying the colour is faded. I think it's just perfect. :)
(also I cannot believe that your blog wasn't in my reading list, my bad and that has been resolved).
Beautiful biscornu!
