With A Little Help From My Friends

16 hours of backstitch later, I'm done Palm!
I've mentioned the story of this piece several times, but a quick recap: When I moved houses in July 2010 I brilliantly packed all my stash away and then had several hours of nothing to do. I also had a Dimensions kit available, so I started it. And then I unpacked everything I put Palm away. Then I participated in a UFO Round Robin and sent Palm out. The ladies made such a big change in it that I knew that a determined push could finish it off. Of course, it still look me a while to get around to finishing it, but I could never have done it without all the RR ladies! *hugs*

And because you can't make out much of the detail in that picture, here are some clickable close-ups:

Being one born among palms and sandy beaches, I am likened to palms. I find them comforting. This is a gorgeous finished piece. Well done RR gang and you. (A bamboo styled frame would look fantastic with it maybe or something with a weave texture.) BRAVO!

It's lovely, Blu. I really like all the pretty greens in it. Grats to the RR ladies. Awesome!!!! And I agree with what Michele said about a bamboo frame. I think that would be awesome!! Well, if you can find one...

Congrats on your finish.
If there's one thing I hate is backstitching... but the end result is so very worth it I think.

Looks great!!!

koodos to you and your RR ladies :)

Now onto the next project :)

Happy Stitching!

A great stitched piece. Congratulations. What sort of happy dance do you do under a palm tree, I wonder? The Happy dance of the seven veils?
