I really like the non-traditional colours of this piece. But part of the overthinking is the realization that that sun is too big! There is no way a sun shining from behind a tree can be that big.
And those are some massive presents, specially the skinny ones since they're half the size of a tree. (Or the tree is really tiny, but when you take into consideration the size of the sun...)
But it still adds up to a cute finish.

it is a cute finish, I love the big sun and wish my presents were that big :)
Good job! I loved stitching this one with the unusual color palette. I'm not a stickler for proportions!
What a great design! Congrats on the finish!
I like this pattern also. It is on my to do list. I also like the colors.
Some how I missed that one. It looks fabulous! Great job stitching it.
I remember seeing this one in the magazine and liking it just because it was different. Even the colours are non-traditional Christmas colours. Very cute!
This turned out really cute! It caught my eye when I first saw it in the mag because it's not as traditional but still very Christmas-y!
It is very cute indeed! Nice finish!!
I really liked this design when I saw it in the magazine, now I just love it since I have seen your finish. I am quite fond of the nontraditional colors in this one.
Fun finish! Love the colors!
I think that design was one of the reasons I got the magazine! Cute finish.
A gorgeous finish. I love it because it is so non traditional. I didn't notice this until I saw it on someone else blog and then it caught my eye. I hope to stitch it sometime this year.
Love it - quirky and cute!
It looks great, i think its fun to use non traditional colors.
Hugs Yvon.
My DD asked me to stitch this pattern when we saw it in the mag.
The design has a very freash
look,well done!!
What a fresh and fun Christmas piece, Blu! How will you finish it?
This is one which I want to stitch too. Yours is lovely, congrats! I believe Fresh Threads is an emanation of Full Circle Designs?
Lovely finish, well done.
You sound like my son, the pedantic one! I don't think the design is a literal interpretation of the sun, tree and prezzies!
It is, however, very sweet and a lovely finish. The question is - what is inside the presents? A rolled up umbrella maybe?
So cute!
Lol, and I wouldn't mind presents, even if there are as tall as the tree! But I too wonder what's inside :D
I think it turned into a brilliant finish Blu!
What a beautifull finish....
I love the spring colors in it!!!
Such a cute finish! The colours are really great!
It is realy non-traditional colours,bur I like it.Nice work!
Too cute!! That's one of the ornaments I wanted to stitch from that magazine, but by the time I decided I wanted it, there was nary a copy to be found around here. Oh, well, I certainly have plenty of other ornaments to stitch. =)
Congratulations on the finish! And don't worry about the sizes; 16th century embroidery was famous for having outrageous variations in sizing. Or think of it as a Picasso...the most important things are the biggest (i.e., PRESENTS and the SUN which we don't see much of during Winter). ;)
Oh how cute is this????? Love, love, love it... all the more for it's quirkiness. Reminds me of a Tim Burton movie. :D
I love the colours and the design - very non traditional.
Very cute in a non-traditional way. It has sort of a Seuss look to me!
I agree ... it is just too cute to think about! Cute finish...
I love those colors!!! Amazing finish :D
Very pretty! I really liked it too.
A cute finish. I like the colours in it.
