To Frog Or Not To Frog

Just a tiny bit more on Masquerade this week.

Masquerade
32 ct Pewter Lugana

But this is my issue: The model moon looks something like that.

Mine is a very clear yellow/white. I'm trying to decide if the contrast is too much and whether I should frog and go for a paler yellow. Any opinions/ideas?

I think your moon is beautiful. It appears that the model's moon has some differences, but since it is a more distant picture of the piece, the differences don't show up as much. Clear as mud, right?

I like your moon. The darker color you used helps it to stand out more. Good choice!

I like the contrast, the winding path down the moon looks very mysterious! But you've got to go with your gut, so if it's bothering you, froggy time. :)

I like your moon - stands out more. You got go with what you think is best.

No frogging for you! It looks great, so send that frog away. Love that design!

My opinion? I think the moon looks perfect the way it is. Actually the whole piece looks fabulous.

I like your moon better than what is shown in the model. I think it looks like the white (isn't it milk?) has just been poured into the moon and hasn't had a chance to mix with the cream (I can't remember what the yellow color represents.) Then the two cats have a choice of which droplet they want to lap up.

Please don't frog it . . it is just to precious the way it is now.

I would leave the moon the way that it is. It's so pretty, and it gives the design that subtle punch of colour.

I think your stitching is fabulous. And, I hate to go against the majority, but if it were me I would replace the yellow with a slightly paler colour. The contrast is too much for my taste. I don't think of cream as being that yellow.

Whatever you decided, though, the results will be wonderful.

I'd leave it, I like it. :)

I like the contrast and being able to see the path. I didn't notice it in the other model when they were mixed together.

Hmmm can you live with it like it is? If you can then leave it, but if it's going to bother you then frog and redo.

I agree with everyone here. I like the way your moon looks.

I wouldn't frog it. I like how it swirls :)

I definitely prefer yours to the model. It's more defined and the one in the model is barely visible.

Your moon looks perfect. And if you decide to go with paler, Murphy's Law says you'll stitch it up and decide it's so pale you can hardly see it.

Don't touch the moon :) Looks great!

Pumpkin said...

Nope, don't touch it! It probably has to do with the way the model was photographed.

Just a 'tiny' bit done???? ;o)

I think it's fine as it is - lovely piece!

Leave it be. I think the color really pops and makes the moon almost glow. Who doesn't love a little moon glow?
