So I'm just curious as to how people find SALs. I usually find out about them when someone whose blog I follow posts a link.
Is there any directory/list out there?
I know of about 10 SALs going on right now, but I know there are tons more that I’m missing out on because I never find out about them.
Would people be interested if I started a blog to advertise/publicize upcoming SALs? I’m thinking that people could submit information on SALs they are running/know about. Definitely free SALs, and also groups that are stitching specific commercial patterns together (all copyright rules being followed of course!).
So what do you think? Is this something worth a shot? Opinions, please!

Oh my goodness! I was thinking the same thing! YES YES YES!! I feel the same way... I know there is more out there, just not sure where. That would be so great to have a place you can always go to and check to see the latest SAL 's.
Great thinking!

I don't know about a list, I happened to find Monopoly and Tree of Stitches (hrm need to start my Monopoly I got the pattern last year.) I need to check a date.
I'm thinking of starting my own SAL In May when the Olympics start. I'll be starting on the day of the marathon but I think traditionally people start on the opening ceremonies. I know there are all ready SAL's out there but a google search didn't bring them up.
I think a list would be great!
I think a list would be a fab idea, I always find out about SAL's when it's too late to join in!
Just go a head, i love to know what SAL's are out there.
i'm always too late, so maybe i will be in time for the next one.
Hugs Yvon.
That sounds like a great idea to me. For the first time I am trying to be involved in a SAL with Lee @ Notes From Under the Mountain. I would love to try others.
They find you...lol...
Or find someone who wants to make the same
This sounds like a great idea because with me being new to stitching blogland, I have been wondering the same myself.

I know of no clearning house, but I think it's an ADSOLUTELY BRILLIANT idea!!!!
Its a great idea, I usually find out about them from blog hopping and reading lots of blogs.
I think this is a brilliant idea! all the Sals I know about, I found them by chance. But if such list exists, it will be oh so tempting to join more sals, lol!
This is a great Yuku board for SALs:
http://love4stitching.yuku.com/directory
These are mostly the ones where everyone is stitching one project by the same designer rather than the Part Works like the Periphaeria Star SAL or iStitch's Mystery.
Also, be aware there is one designer who does not like unofficial SALs. She has a Yahoo board for her SALs and won't tolerate anyone else starting a SAL for her designs.
I think it's a great idea to be in contact with other people stitching the same thing.
I'd be interested.
It's a great idea!
There are a lot of French SALs, beautiful and interesting, but I don't know how to know about them ahead (I don't speak French).
Hugs,
Tatyana
I would love a list. Even if I didn't join in at least I could if I want to.
A list or a directory page of some sort would be absolutely wonderful. So often I only learn about SALs too late to do anything.
What a brilliant idea, I miss SAL's so often because I don't find them in time!
