A Different Kind of Biscornu

I have a daily commute which may or may not involve waiting 30 minutes for a bus. (Winnipeg transit is not the best in the world.) What better way to kill time than by stitching?

I didn't want to deal with multiple colours and in the hunt for a monochromatic small I dug through my freebies and started Anita's 15 sided blackwork biscornu. Except I decided to stitch it on 18ct black aida with white thread.

The motifs are 14 stitches long, which makes them a little under an inch. I've never made a 15 sided biscornu before so it should be an interesting exercise.

I almost started that biscornu a couple of weeks ago but I couldn't decide what color/s to make it. White on black will be very pretty. I can't wait to see it all completed and put together.

I think it is a great idea to use the waiting time for stitching.
The sides you have finished are pretty.

I'm looking forward to seeing this finished. I've never tackled a biscornu before, I'm still trying to pluck up the courage!

The white and black work really well - nice progress so far.

It looks very pretty. I hope the buses are a little more reliable in the winter. And, truthfully, the TTC can be pretty unreliable too. I think Canadian public transportation is cursed. ;)

That will be a stunning piece. Hope you have good light where you wait to see that black fabby!

This really is a lovely piece and a perfect way to pass away the wait.

I would also like to try this kind of biscornu and this year as I try to stitch one every month (sadly I am very much behind) it would be the perfect time. I am looking forward to see yours. Sure it will look great :)

Looks great with the white on black, sure beats sitting waiting on the bus with nothing to do!

That looks like a great piece to do while waiting for the bus, Blu! I'll bet the finished biscornu will be stunning in black and white.

what a coincidence ! I'll be starting this design tomorrow, stitching a 15 sided biscornu as a SAL on a French forum ^^
