Zen & the Art of Exercise

Turns out that my local Canada Post closes at 3 on Fridays. So still cameraless. But I have now passed beyond anger and frustration and disappointment. I am a calm pebble in an ocean of tranquility.

After a session with Cirque I felt like more colour, so I went green.

Why Hoard Gold?
28 ct white lugana

This is actually stitching up quite fast and I'm enjoying it. The scan exaggerates the difference between the greens. I've decided to finish all the parts that use Anchor Marlitt thread first. It's definitely an interesting experience using them. They don't stay together. And they tangle up like crazy! The modus is short threads and firm, smooth pulls.

In unrelated news, my mum, in a fit of health consciousness, has bought a treadmill. And decided that I'm going to be exercising with her in the spirit of solidarity and because it's good for me (or something to that effect). I think she just wants me to suffer with her.
My first run will be tomorrow. So if I don't show up for the next while I'm probably looking for a chainsaw to introduce to the treadmill.

Really nice to see your wip's! It makes me inspired to do some stitching myself. :o)

I already like your little dragon. When I stitch with floss that tangles up, I take out my Threadheaven. Works like a charm.

Lovely wip. Interesting how some threads can be such a pig to use. All the best with the treadmill. x

I have an elliptical we could use that saw on too if you wanted to!
I love your new start. I hope to do this one some day for my chocoholic hubby.

Sorry to hear that you missed the post office. Hopefully on Monday you'll be able to get it. I like the different shades in the greens. Your progress looks great.

I like that you too change the pattern you are stitching when ever you want :)
I have allways many WIP.s on same time and I just pick up the one I like to stitch most..
For me the inspiration is very important..

Lovely WIP and be careful with that chainsaw!

I was lucky enough to stitch the model for Why Hoard Gold. What helped me survive the rayon was to wet it down with a damp sponge before stitching. Let it dry a little bit and then you'll be off to the races.

Hope your camera returns soon!

Nice WIP! Good luck with the treadmill. I've found that they make a great place to hang clothes...

I love stitching on Dragon Dreams stuff, its always a joy! A trick for the marlitt, besides short lengths is I find its thinck enough that I only use one strand. Also I keep a small bowl of water by my stitching chair dip my fingers in it with each new strand and run the strand between my damp fingers. That seems to help take the kinks out!

Enjoy your run! I've got a 5K next Sunday!

The dragon is looking great so far. You are a much better woman than I am; I just couldn't cope with the Marlett.

Great start, Blu! The greens are looking very dragonlike :)

Good luck with the treadmill! I just love mine--and am pretty addicted to it after 15 years. You'll feel so good after you're done with your workout!

I love this design :o) Great start!

Doesn't that just make you crazy when you're THAT close to getting something and it's just out of your reach? LOL!

I could use a treadmill right about now...
