June TUSAL
I missed TUSAL yesterday (but so did Daffycat so I'm forgiving myself for the lapse).
This looks remarkably similar to the last TUSAL, mostly because I haven't stitched very much since then. Just a few metallics added.

End of June Wrap-Up
Can you believe that the year is half over? I certainly can't. It's just ridiculous how time flies!
First, a quick look at SFS: I didn't spend a penny this month.
Spending so far is $69.63
I have $80.37 banked
And the biscornu of the month for
And assembled:
I really enjoyed stitching the first side so I went ahead and did the second one too. But with a small colour difference. I think this is called Carrés Entrelacés but my French is too poor for me to be certain. Any Francophones want to set me straight? (Yes, I'm Canadian. Yes, I've forgotten what meagre French I studied in days gone. Mi español es un poco mejor.)

Something Different
It's summer and the weather is glorious and hot! What better time to work on a granny stripe blanket?
Sometimes I baffle myself.
I've been working on this off and on for about 3 years, I think. I've never posted a picture because I thought it would be too boring. But I haven't stitched a thing for a week so we finally get to see it on the blog.
It's a very lovely deep green, much nicer in person. The plan is to have a black stripe near the bottom and several stripes of varying thickness at the top. It's 80 inches wide and currently 47 inches long. I'll stop when it looks long enough or when I run out of yarn. This is such a vaguely planned project lol.

Metallics Galore
Deco Spirits looked like this last time I posted:
Now they look like this:
After the larger fabric sizes of Ohm and Egyptian Sampler 32ct seems positively microscopic!
And this month's WIPocalypse question:
Have you ever been to a stitch gathering such as a retreat or a festival? If so, tell us about it!
Sadly I've never been to a stitch gathering. I'd love to go to one but it seems to one of things where you think about it but never get around to it.

Dance Like An Egyptian
Egyptian Sampler is done! I woke up a few days ago and decided that I was just going to put Ohm aside and push for a finish. I've wanted to stitch this for a long time and I'm so happy that it's actually finished instead of languishing in my WIP pile.
There's just so much detail in this, but it doesn't feel like it. I think it's because it's just one motif after another, so it feels like lots of small happy dances.
I'm very glad I stitched the border as I went along instead of leaving it to the end. Funny (as in ha-ha-no) story: I was actually beading around the blue flowers when I realized that five of the star stitches were a stitch off. They weren't even wrong in a way I could pretend was creative; just wrong. So I had to take a break from the beading to go back to cross stitching. It threw off my beading zen a bit.
The over-one was alright but I'm so glad I didn't have to frog any of it.
Looking back I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this, right up to the end. I usually get bored and the last stretch can sometimes be a real slough. But not for this. Still, I think it'll be a while before my next Teresa Wentzler (probably Peacock Majesty).
I think I'm going to pull out Deco Spirits for a bit now. Maybe finish off one of the Spirits.
