A Fantastical Start

I had a new start. BUT I was good. Sort of. It's one I've been planning for a while, so it was a WIP without stitches, right?

I've only ever seen this finished once, but as a fan how can I not stitch this tribute to all fantasy/RPG cliches?

Dragon Dreams' The Runekeeper Saga:

It's got it all: a Hero, a Wizard, a Princess, the Companions (Bard (although I think he looks more like a Thief), Elf, Knight), a Castle, a Dragon, a Unicorn (Ok, that's a bit uncommon), a Sword, a Crown and of course, the Evil!

I'm going to get the border out of the way first. I was going to stitch block by block and have 12 mini HDs, but I've decided to have some fun instead. I'm going to go by colour. And post a picture after each colour. It'll either be very interesting to see the pictures appear as colours increase, or we'll all get sick of seeing strange blobs!

And I've made changes. You can't really tell from the model, but the inner borders are different for each motif. Except that you can barely see the light ones. I'm just going with my favourite (Bard's) for all of them.

Cool piece. I don't think I could have had the patience to stitch that border first. I'd be too anxious to stitch the characters. Plus I'd no doubt count wrong and have to re-do it multiple times. Congrats on getting over the first hurdle.

Thank you,thank you!!! :)

For what?- You migh think!!

I will explain.
My son is now 13 and I have tryed to find a kit or a chart that I could stitch for him.
I have stiched many beautiful designs for my daughter because it is so easy to find a design for her.
But boys on age of 13 dont usually like that much of cute teddybears,Hello Kittyes etc.,dont they!?
But they DO like play fantasy games:)

I even found that chart from Europe,
one net-store in Italy
(I live in Finland ) called
Casa Cenina have the chart.
Me and my stitching friends are used to order some stash from there so I am so hapyy..

I like your style - getting the border done first! At least it's out of the way then! I always work in blocks so I'll be intrigued to see how your chart looks being completed colour by colour...!
