25ct Antique White Lugana, full cross in 1 strand
So I picked up some 25 count lugana and started over. I've already put in more hours on this than I did on the original. Since it's full crosses it's taking more time to see progress, but I'm a lot happier with this and therefore more likely to stick with it.
I initially started gridding with a water soluble marker but I just didn't like it. So I switched to thread. I have a question for people that use water soluble markers: will the marks wash out after an ironing? Or should I avoid the iron until the very end?

I've always gridded with thread, so I can't answer your question, Blu. I'm glad you're enjoying yourself though. Happiness is... A needle and thread!!
Your new start looks good. I've never used water soluble marker before so I can't help you there. Sorry :(
Hugs,
Veronica.
I can't help you, but i can say that you did i good job with your new start, and i hope that you can show some more of it soon.
Hugs Yvon.
Great new start - best to do what you are comfortable with.
Hello
I can't help with your question either but your new start looks great!
Great new start. I use magic guide so can't help with your question, sorry.
I use water-soluble marker but I haven't finished anything, so not sure on the iron. I have heard that ironing can set the color, so it's best to make sure the marks wash out completely and iron only once at the end.
Did you already remove the markings on your piece? I still see faint lines. They should completely disappear with water, though I did find I had to spray and let dry twice when using evenweave vs hardanger. :)
This is looking very nice. I haven't used markers. I started on easy count stuff, bought from their website for under £10. 100 yards and delivery included from America. Apparently it doesn't fray like thread. Made my life so much easier already. Good luck!
if it is water soluble then you will need to wash it out before you iron .... providing you can wash your threads you should be ok. love mouse xxxx
I have never gridded and wish I had! I would assume wash first before iron too. How do you remove the thread you gridded with so it doesn't show up?
