In apology I offer this (atrocious) scan of my newest project: Glendon Place's Sleepy Hollow. His Headlessness is from Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" available for free since it passed out of copyright ages ago. A very enjoyable story but be warned that Irving is a flowery & descriptive writer.
My computer is on it's last legs and simply can't run any photo editing software. My camera died in the move and my brother took his camera when he went back to university. So until my new camera arrives (hopefully in a week) we'll all have to cringe through truly bad scans.

This picture in no way resembles what's sitting before me. Sadly it's the best I can do. The fabric is 32ct Thunderstorm linen, a very nice splotchy grey.
The scan actually cuts off a bit more of the border. I've reached the top and finished the rightmost pumpkin & bat. The border actually isn't too bad, but I'm alternating it & the horse so I don't get too bored.
I love the border on this!

ReplyDeleteI know I'm repeating what others have said already but that border is FANTASTIC! The Thunderstorm fabric seems very fitting for this particular design.

ReplyDeleteI don't know if you read The Wagon, but there is a thread there about materials for this design. In short, you need two full packs of 3007, 2 x black, 2 x the darkest grey, probably 2 x white, don't really need two shades of red since each colour is only used for a few stitches (so you could use something from your stash), full skein of the Lemon 'n Lime and maybe a bit of a second.
I'd love to stitch this myself, and I am so looking forward to seeing more of your's.

ReplyDeleteI love that design! Sorry about the computer/camera woes! I use www.picnik.com to edit my photos (the free bit, never did upgrade to premium). My desktop is full of iTunes and other stuff so it's easier to do stuff that I don't have to download. Just thought I'd mention it--the scan looks good!
